Wilma Hogan Obituary

Wilma Ruth (Cecil) Hogan born 8/2/1926, was a resident of Trafalgar passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, after a 9-year journey with Alzheimer's Disease. Up until the end, Wilma maintained her compassion, kindness, grace, and appreciation of beauty and love of family, and Jesus our Lord. She expressed gratitude for her long life which was full of wonderful and varied experiences. Wilma's life can be best encapsulated by the five "F" words. Family, Friends, Flowers, Food and Fun. In her 99 years here with us, she experienced an abundance of each.

Just some knowledge from the year 1926. Average annual income was $2310.00, a new car was $360.00, a gallon of gas was $.12, and a gallon of milk was $ .56.

Wilma married the love of her life, Scott Hogan, on July 17, 1943. They had almost 70 years together before his passing on June 18, 2012. Together they had three sons. Steve Hogan, Cecil Hogan, and Kenny Hogan. Wilma is survived by her son, Kenny (Anne) Hogan, and brother whom she adored Darryl Marker, 5 grandchildren and extra blessings. Several great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Wilma enjoyed the visits of her great grandchildren especially, Kailei, who she called "boy". Holding, singing, and painting nails with the "littles".

Wilma is proceeded in death by her two sons, Steve and Cecil Hogan, her parents, and her brother Larry.

Wilma was known for being a fine cook in her day. She delighted in preparing tasty food to share. We always loved to watch her washing the dishes and Scott drying them. They were quite a pair, very united and always together.

Wilma and Scott enjoyed 12 winters in Texas together and several vacation on their "bucket" list. She loved to dance, play cards, and take car rides to just "sight see".

Kenny would like to recognize the caregivers who provided wonderful care to Wilma so she could remain in her home until the end. Paradigm Hospice for their support and amazing care, who felt more like family than professionals. Thank you with all our gratitude Viola and Kianna. Plus, her music therapist, Emily, who sang her favorite hymn "Amazing Grace".

More than anything else, Wilma was a Christian and took comfort knowing she would be reunited with Scott and her daddy. She treasured the verse "Truly, truly I say to you, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death." John 8:51.

Wilma will be missed but she is no longer in pain or confusion, she is running into the Lord's arms and the love of her life, her beloved Scott.

I was a caregiver for Wilma for several months years ago. I meet her through my daughter Carrie. I´m blessed to have known her, she was an amazing lady. I loved her instantly sweet, kind and a very loving person. we took walks around the block and say slow down and she would laugh because she was 27 years older than me. she was a very GODLY lady and a lot of fun to be around. She knew how to make people laugh. It has been an honor to know the hogan family, my thoughts and prayers to family and friends. I Love you Wilma!
