Wilma Jean Smith, age 95, of Jackson, Ohio passed away Wednesday, February 28th, 2024. She was born November 13th, 1928, in Oak Hill, Ohio to the late Fred and Lena (Flaker) Lenhart.
Wilma Jean was a 1946 graduate of Jackson High School. She met and married James A. Smith in 1946. They started their life together and started a family. Wilma Jean worked at several places throughout her life including working at Oak Hill Banks as a cleaner and being a homemaker. She loved her front porch and tending to her flowers, which was evident any time you drove by her house on High Street.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Dave Burke of Jackson, Ohio. She is also survived by two grandchildren, James Israel and Kim Israel of Springfield, Ohio; as well as special friends, Betty Biggs and Carolyn Rapp.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Smith; her daughter, Betty Albert; sisters, Helen, and Mae; and her brother, Leroy.
The family would like to extend thanks to her caregivers, Margaret, Nancy, Dee, and Patty.
A private committal will be held at Fairmount Cemetery with Rev. Janie Karl presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Online condolences may be sent to .
