Wilma Jean Smith, a tender spirit with an indomitable heart, was born on October 26, 1942, in the sweet town of Honey Grove, Texas. Throughout her life, she wove a rich tapestry of memories, colored by her love for family and friends, which will forever resonate in the hearts of all who knew her. Wilma departed this world on December 9, 2025, in Hurst, Texas, leaving behind a legacy not only as a devoted registered nurse but also as a beacon of warmth, laughter, and resilience.

With a personality that sparkled with kindness and humor, Wilma embraced life with an open heart and an exuberant spirit. Known for her caring and giving nature, she had a remarkable ability to uplift those around her, often lightening the weight of the world with her infectious laughter and joyous presence. Her radiant smile was a testament to her unyielding zest for life, serving as a source of comfort to her family and friends, who cherished every moment spent in her company.

Throughout her years, Wilma was not only a caregiver by profession but a nurturer at heart. She dedicated her life to helping others and showed immense strength, remaining resilient in spite of her health challenges. Her outspoken nature and spirited enthusiasm made her not merely a participant in life; she was a vibrant force. Her unselfish love for her family and friends is a legacy that will continue to inspire and warm the hearts of those she has touched.

A lover of unique treasures, Wilma delighted in thrift and bargain shopping, always on the hunt for something special to bring home. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—watching her favorite game shows like Family Feud and The Price is Right, Joel Olsten, indulging in thrilling Bingo games, and sharing moments of delight as she listened to music or enjoyed the antics of Animal Planet. Her favorite treats, crispy fried chicken legs , watermelon, and strawberry ice cream, were often shared with friends and family during countless gatherings, each bite filled with laughter and camaraderie.

Wilma leaves behind a legacy of love that will be celebrated during services December 29, 2025, a funeral service and burial at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Her spirit will gently guide her loved ones as they remember her not only for her professional accomplishments but for her unwavering spirit, caring disposition, and the sheer joy she brought to the lives of many.

She asked God to live to 80 years and He gave her 83 years.  More than anything next to God she loved her family and wanted everyone to love each other and get along.

As we gather to honor Wilma Jean Smith, let us remember the laughter, the love, and the lessons she imparted through her radiant existence. Though she may have left this earthly domain, her light will forever shine brightly in the memories she created and the love that will endure in the hearts of those she held dear.
