Wilma Frances Thomas, 95, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2025.
Funeral service will be held 10 am Friday, December 12, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Burwash officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. In lieu of flowers her memory may be honored with a gift to Missions at Calvary Baptist Church, P.O Box 1026, Borger, Texas 79008. Wilma was born June 15, 1930, in Cromwell, Oklahoma to Wilbur McAtee and Grace Thomas McAtee. She married Bill Thomas on November 5, 1949, in Cromwell, Oklahoma. They moved to Borger from Tulsa, Oklahoma in May of 1952. Wilma enjoyed crocheting, reading and cooking. She was member of Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. Wilma also served as president of the Women’s Missionary Union. She loved her church, her church family and her friends. Nothing brought more joy to her life than her family. She especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Grace McAtee; husband, Bill R. Thomas; and sisters, Katherine Wheeler, Betty Cross, and Alice Woods.
Survivors include her three sons, Randall Thomas and wife Shari of Greeley, Colorado, Sherman Thomas and wife Susan of Caddo Mills, Texas, William Thomas and wife Helen of Borger; two daughters, Marilyn Clawson and husband Kendall of Borger, Barbara Mitchell and husband Richard of Borger; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren with one on the way; sister, Delores Cox of Okemah, Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
