Jose Luis Perez, 67 of Borger, passed away on February 4, 2026, at home surrounded by family.
The rosary will be recited beginning at 6 pm on Friday, February 6, 2026, in Minton Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Jose was born on December 28, 1958, in Juarez, Mexico to Salvador and Evangelina (Rodriguez) Perez. He proudly served in the US Army. Jose married Irma Valdez on December 28,1978, in El Paso, Texas. He worked at Phillips as a warehouseman and was a member of St John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Borger. Jose was a Dallas Cowboys fanatic but also loved the Lakers, las Aguilas de America, having a beer with his homies and cruising in his truck.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Salvador and Evangelina Perez; and sister, Antonia Sanchez.
Survivors include his wife, Irma; sons, Jose Luis Perez, Jr. and wife Kate of Lubbock, Juan Marcelo Valdez of Lubbock; daughters, Norma Lorena Perez of Lubbock, Maria Guadalupe Newton and husband Josh of Wylie, Texas; brothers, Francisco Perez and wife Raquel of El Paso, Texas, Rene Perez and wife Pilar of El Paso, Texas; sister, Rosenda Lopez of El Paso, Texas; and five grandchildren, Lucas Salvador Newton, Brooklyn Olivia Newton, Adamarie Braxtynn Crawford, Jose Luis Perez III, and Mateo Daniel Perez.
