Wilma Weaver, 94, of Jefferson formerly of Grant, died Friday July 15 at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson, Iowa. Graveside service will be held 11: OO a.m. Saturday, July 23 at Noble Cemetery in Griswold. Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson is in charge of the arrangements. For God so loved the world He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3: 16 Everyone is invited to a time of lunch and fellowship at the Noble Center U.E. B. Church following the service at the cemetery. Wilma Jean Truax Weaver, Daughter of Claude Truax and Vessie May Snodgrass Truax was born February 26, 1917 in Mason City, Iowa and died June 15, 2011 at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson, Iowa. Wilma's father worked for the telephone company and he was transferred to Milford, Iowa when Wilma was six weeks old. She graduated from Milford High School in 1935 where her father was custodian from her first grade year until 1955. She met Clarence Weaver at Church League and on February 17, 1937 they were married at Clear Lake, Iowa. They were parents to four children: Roberta Jean, Marnis Marie, Coleen Anne, and Randall Claude. They lived in Grant, Iowa and moved to Ft. Collins, Colorado for a year before moving back to Grant. In 1952 they moved two miles north of Grant until they moved to Jefferson in 1959. Wilma candled eggs at Lyman and babysat in the Grant and Jefferson area. Wilma was a member of Nobel Center E.U.B. Church. Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sisters, Gwendora Truax, Vernedo Hawley- Atwood and Marvel Lyons Kane: her grandson Samuel Weaver and daughter-law Vicki Weaver. Wilma is survived by her three daughters, Roberta Reynolds (Edward) of Indianola, Iowa; Marnis Joy of Jefferson; Coleen Labertew (Max) of Indianola; one son, Randall Weaver of Montana; 15 grandchildren: Jason Reynolds (Sharon) of Texas; Judd Reynolds (Diana) of Georgia; John Paul Reynolds of Kentucky; Jennie Reynolds Ryman (Greg) of Virginia; Justin Reynolds and fiancé Kelly Price of Virginia; Janis Joy Hoskinson (Kary) of Grand Junction; Jeanne Joy Langford (Jay Pfaltzgraf) of Guthrie Center, Iowa; Larry Joy, Jr. (Terri) of Jefferson; Michael Haley (Elizabeth) of Denver; Trent Haley (Ashley) of Altoona; Joel Labertew (Angela) of Yorkville, Illinois; Daniel Labertew of Joplin, Missouri; Sara Balter (Mark) of Montana; Racheal Fedor (Joel) of Montana; and Elisheba Weaver of Montana; 28 great grandchildren; and one great- great grandchild. Wilma is also survived by a sister, Marleen Bird of Carlsborg, Washington; an aunt, Irma Sampson of Idaho; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
