Wilson Boyd Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tullahoma Funeral Home on Dec. 9, 2025.
Arthur Wilson Boyd, age 78, of Cowan, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Tuesday, December 2. He was born to the late Katherine Glasner Boyd Copeland of Cowan and the late Pat Boyd. Wilson was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, and son-in-law who was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Wilson enjoyed a distinguished 21-year career in the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired in 1990 as a Master Sergeant while stationed at Headquarters Marine Corps in Washington, D.C. His service took him across the United States and overseas. After retirement, he and his family lived in Huntsville, Alabama. Over the next 25 years, Wilson worked with several companies including Marshall Space Flight Center, TVA, and a major industrial construction company.
Wilson dearly loved his granddaughters, Ryleigh and Lindsey, who were his pride and joy. He cherished his pets through the years, especially his loyal pit bull, "Jax."
He enjoyed off-roading in the mountains with family and friends and spent many memorable days and nights in the Cowan mountains. Fishing was another favorite pastime, particularly on the "farm" with his son and granddaughters.
Wilson had exceptional welding and fabrication skills. He built and restored several off-road vehicles, including his 1947 Willys Jeep, and helped his son build his own 1962 Willys truck. He loved figuring out how things worked and could tinker with just about anything until it was repaired-even if it just was with the help of duct tape. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.
Wilson is survived by his loving wife, Terri Boyd of Cowan; his son, Brian (Kristy) Boyd of Cowan; and his granddaughters, Ryleigh (Ethan) Warner of Nashville and Lindsey Boyd of Cowan; along with additional family members. He is preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Copeland; stepfather, Hoyt Copeland; father, Pat Boyd and brother, Jack Boyd.
A private celebration of Wilson's life will be held by the family. If you wish to honor Wilson's memory, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Animal Harbor in Winchester (931-962-4472).
