Born on July 19, 1945, in Chesterfield, SC, Wilson was the son of the late Wilson Robert Polson and Nealie Brown Polson McLain. He dedicated over 43 years of service to Highland Industries before retiring. A member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, Wilson was also lifetime member of Ruby Masonic Lodge #314.
Known for his outgoing personality and engaging storytelling, Wilson had the remarkable ability to connect with others, never meeting a stranger. He enjoyed time spent hunting and fishing, often found riding his lawnmower or nurturing his prized hibiscus flowers. However, his greatest joy came from being "Pa Pa" to his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his siblings: Billy R. Polson, Jerald Wiley Polson, Kathy Odessa Polson, Peggy P. Wallace, and Bonnie P. Gibson.
Wilson is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Linda Burr Polson; their sons, Tommy (Lisa) Polson of Ruby, SC, and Tim (Rebecca) Polson of Chesterfield, SC; and his cherished grandchildren, Bailey (Victoria) Polson of Lexington, SC, Brianna Lee Polson of Ruby, SC, and Bella Elizabeth Polson of Chesterfield, SC. He also leaves behind brothers-in-law Jimmy (Sheila) Gibson, Jerry (Vickie) Burr, and Sonny (Suzane) Burr; special friends, Ronnie & Peggy Davis, and Kendall & Helen Moore; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A special thanks is given to hospice nurse, Madison Sellers and aide, Hannah Williams and the entire staff of Gentiva Hospice of Chesterfield for the extraordinary care and support they provided.
