A graveside service will be held at 3:30 PM on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Jeff Gardner and Pastor Jamie Gulledge. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery and requests that attendees dress casually in honor of Myra.
Born on January 25, 1960, in Chesterfield, SC, Myra was the daughter of the late John Weldon Rivers, Jr. and Hazel Eudy Rhode. She graduated from Chesterfield High School and was a former employee of INA Bearing and a former supervisor with Chesterfield Manufacturing. Myra was raised attending Shiloh Methodist Church with her family. Known for her warm and outgoing personality, she never met a stranger and would occasionally tell you exactly how she felt about something. A lover of animals, she held a special place in her heart for them. Above all, her role as a "Nana" to her grandchildren brought her the most pride and joy.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Rivers was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Anna Kristen Rivers; her brother, Weldon Rivers; her sister, Melinda Treadaway; and her stepfather, Russell Charles Rhode.
She is survived by her son, Casey (Kristin) Rivers of Hartsville, SC; four cherished grandchildren, Charles Weldon “Charlie” Rivers, Matthew Sulee “Red” Rivers, Gracelyn Estelle Rivers, and Wyatt Allan “Scoot” Rivers; a niece, Brooke (Johnny) Alford of Hartsville, SC; a nephew, Colton Treadaway of Chesterfield, SC; and a special sister in heart, Susan Hall of Cheraw, SC. She is also remembered by numerous extended family members and friends.
In honoring her love for animals, memorial contributions may be made to a humane society of one’s choice.
Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home (www.mrcfuneralhome.com) is serving the Rivers family.
