WADESBORO – On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, Mr. Warren Jesse Evans, 85, passed away peacefully at Richmond County Hospice Haven in Rockingham.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 14, 2026, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Gerald officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park.

The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.

Warren was born January 13, 1941, in Asheville, NC and was a son of the late Warren Tripett Evans and the late Lillian Rochester Evans. He attended Chesterfield High School and a veteran of the United States Navy having served on the USS Forrestal.

He was retired from Duke Energy and attended Calvary Baptist Church.

Those who are left to cherish his memory are his daughter and son-in-law, Warrie and Ramsy Boland of Cary; his granddaughter, Hope Boland of Texas; his brother and sister, Tracy Evans of Cocoa Beach, FL and Janice Willets of W. Columbia, SC and his nieces and nephews from both the Evans and Hightower families.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 46 ears, Kathryn Hightower Evans and by his sister, Mary “Tippy” Campbell.

The family is most grateful to the staff of Hamlet House for the care they provided for Warren while he was a resident there and most recently to the staff of Richmond County Hospice Haven for all they did for him during his final days.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Richmond County Hospice Haven, 1119 N US 1 HWY, Rockingham, NC 28379.
