Windell Earl Pounds, born September 23, 1936, went to his heavenly home on October 13, 2025.
Being an only child born to Avery and Lora Mae Pounds, his best playmate was Tott, his white bulldog. He loved bulldogs and hound dogs and always made sure to wear his MSU cap to all the doctor appointments he had in Oxford. Windell was apart of the 1955 graduating class of Woodland High School. A year later, on June 1, 1956, he married the love his life, Clara Mae Tedder. They spent 69 loving and hard working years together on their dairy farm working side by side. His favorite memory was when he bought a new, one row cotton picker.
He is survived by his wife Clara Mae Pounds of Woodland, MS, daughter Tammy Earl Pounds of Woodland, MS, son Windell Keith Pounds (Ladonna) of Houston, MS. He adored his granddaughters; Amanda (Gunn) Spencer, of Tupelo, MS, Ashley (Hayden) Gill, Greenwood Springs, MS, Allison Pounds (Conner Hollimon) of Houston, MS along with step-grandchildren; Hannah Watson of Houston, MS, Hunter Dendy of Houston, MS, Michael Weaver of California, and Joseph Dendy of Texas. His great-grandchildren; Lily, Jacob and Joseph Spencer, Avery Gill, and Addie Mae Hollimon also held a special place in his heart.
