Winetta Barbara Kirkland, born on June 23, 1935, in Monroe, Wisconsin, passed away on November 22, 2025, in Dunedin, Florida. A devoted mother and a lifelong learner, Barbara earned her Bachelor's Degree and embarked on a successful career as an investor in the real estate industry. She had a particular passion for renting properties and investing, which showcased her keen business acumen.
Barbara was also a dedicated educator, imparting her knowledge and love for learning to her students at Saint Cecilia Catholic School for eight impactful years. Her warm spirit and nurturing demeanor deeply touched the lives of both her students and colleagues alike.
A true lover of life, Barbara cherished her time in Florida, delighting in the warm weather and its vibrant atmosphere. Travel was a significant part of her life; she ventured to many countries around the world, enriching her experiences and broadening her horizons. Music held a special place in her heart, and she possessed a profound appreciation for its ability to connect people and evoke emotions.
Barbara is survived by her sons, Lawrence Johnson and Gregory Johnson, along with daughters-in-law Connie Johnson and Angie Appleget-Johnson. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her legacy of love and passion for life. Following her wishes, Barbara will be cremated, with her ashes to be interred on December 3, 2025, at 1750 Curlew Road, Palm Harbor, Florida. Her family looks forward to celebrating her life and the joy she brought to those around her.
