Funeral Services for Woodrow C. McQueen, age 84, of Carriere, MS, who passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025, will be held, Wednesday, October 01, 2025 at 12:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Carriere Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Bro. Darrell Worley will officiate the service.
A native of Hancock County, MS, he was a Tug Boat Captain and a member of Christian Life Assembly of God. Woodrow had a great sense of humor, he loved making people laugh. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and racing cars. He loved his wife of 65 years dearly. Together they had 3 children and he taught each of them how to hunt and fish, and how to love, care and respect others. Woodrow worked hard away from home to provide for his family. Even though he was working away he carried the love for helping others with him. Woodrow made sure no one ever needed anything, he was always willing to help whatever the task may have been. He loved to tinker in his garage, with anything just to make sure it was running just right. He was a devout Christian, who will be deeply missed by his wife, children, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow C. McQueen and Pauline Purvis McQueen; sister, Joyce Bergeron; brother, Thomas Harrison
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Helen Lucille Bond McQueen; children, Anna Maria Perez; Kenneth Lee "Kenny" (Dawn) McQueen, William (Stephanie) McQueen; grandchildren, Brandon (Christy Tolar) Dawkins, Tracy (Josh) Dawkins, Monique (Jason) Seal, Monica (Justin) Reed, Ashley Renee (Lance) Brown, Anna Rachelle Pruitt; 11 great grandchildren, Dade, Bella, Connor, Ryder, Austin, Brice, Alexis, Drea, Isaac, Alia, and Leland; first cousin and life long friend, J.W. Hodge; brother in law and great friend; Gilbert Bergeron
