Wyatt Parker Akers, age 6, of Sequim, Washington, passed away alongside his devoted father on October 30, 2025.
Wyatt spent his preschool year at Five Acre School. He loved school. During his kindergarten year he attended Greywolf Elementary School and enjoyed the AWANA program with his cousin Violet. Wyatt recently joined a home school co-op, Olympic Peninsula Home Connection, and was known by all who knew him for his big heart, quick smile, and friendly enthusiasm. His brother, cousins and family were a great source of joy.
He loved deeply about everything, but fishing, Pokémon, Legos, searching for beach glass and soccer were some of his favorites. Playing games, telling jokes and making people laugh made him so happy. Rocking out to music, jumping on the trampoline and playing football were some of his favorite things to do with his brother. Wyatt had a wild curiosity and deep interest in learning about everything. He was so special, kind and caring that everyone he met was treated as a friend.
Wyatt is deeply mourned by his family and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. Wyatt is survived by his mother, Daylee Joers Akers of Sequim, Washington; his brother, Aiden Akers; and his maternal grandparents, Pete and Elizabeth Joers of Port Angeles, Washington. He is also survived by his paternal great-grandparents, Linda Tisdale and the late Larry Livingston, and Jeanne Hill Joers and his aunt, Jaedyn "Maxine" Joers, of Sequim; paternal grandparents, Susan (Jody) Barrow of Eatonton, Georgia, and Mike (Lea) Akers of Dandridge, Tennessee; his step great grandparents, Faye White and the late Tom White, also of Dandridge. His aunts and uncles, Ashley Akers (Scott) Trudon, Blythe Barrow, David Michael Akers Jr., Joseph Barrow.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Christian and Wyatt will be held on December 13th at 11am at Kingsway Foursquare Church, in Sequim, with a potluck reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Washington Conservation Corps, continuing the legacy of a love for nature that Christian and Wyatt shared. For those who wish to offer direct support to Daylee and Aiden during this difficult time, a GoFundMe page has been created to help with expenses and provide stability for their future.
