It is with profound sadness that we share the devastating news of Wyatt Nelson Alan Sketchley's passing on August 17th, 2025, at the age of 22. Wyatt, born on May 7th, 2003, to Cynthia Parmley and Dennis Sketchley, brought immense joy and love to his family and friends.
Wyatt was a creative spirit who loved music, art, and engaging in interesting conversation. He possessed an entrepreneurial drive and was actively exploring his future endeavors. A talented musician, Wyatt dreamed of building a successful business that would allow him to dedicate more time to his music. He had a deep compassion for those in need, which included a lifelong love for animals. Wyatt had a strong character, never shying away from expressing his opinions or challenging others views. He thought deeply, loved sincerely, and always forged his own path.
Our world has suffered a tremendous loss with Wyatt's early departure. While we will never know the full extent of his future contributions or the man he was becoming, we will forever cherish the young man he was. Wyatt was deeply spiritual and enjoyed exploring his faith; we hope he has now found the answers with our loving God, to all the questions he once held.
Wyatt is survived by his mother, Cindy Parmley; his father, Dennis Sketchley; his siblings, Molly and Spencer Sketchley; his stepfather and step brother Ronald Schiller and Robert Schuette; his grandparents, Randy and Denise Parmley, and Robert and Debby Sketchley; his uncles and aunts, Chad Parmley, Heather and John Dotto, Bud and Marie Sketchley, Don Sketchley; and his cousins, Georgia and Imogen Dotto, Caitlin and Donnie Sketchley, Henry Sketchley, and Kaitlin Parmley. Wyatt also leaves behind a vast network of friends across many states who meant a great deal to him and will miss him deeply. Our family loved Wyatt immeasurably, and we will never be the same without him. Wyatt never hesitated to say I love you, an endearing quality in such a young man. Let this be a reminder to all who knew him: tell your loved ones how much you love them at every opportunity.
The greatest tribute to those we have lost is not grief, but gratitude for every memory we have and all the love we shared.
A memorial service will be held on October 10th, 2025, at Reliance Church at 4:00 PM (29825 Santiago Road), with a wake immediately following.
