Yen Hoang "Michelle" Vu, age 52, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, in Avon, Indiana. Born on March 16, 1973, in Vietnam, Yen brought warmth and compassion into the lives of all who knew her.
Yen was the beloved youngest child of Chuc Pham and the late Vu Duy De. Her generous spirit and boundless empathy made her a cherished presence among her siblings: Vu Ngoc Lan, Vu Duy Thanh, Vu Hoai Huong, Vu Le Chinh, Vu Thinh Vuong, Vu ThuThuy, Vu Le Thanh, Vu Khai Hoan, Vu Duy Tien, and Vu Thanh Son. She was preceded in death by her sister Vu Hoang Oanh.
Yen's life was defined by faith, love, and selflessness. Even during times of personal hardship and illness, she continued to care deeply for others—always putting their needs before her own. In her final moments, she prayed with her family and reminded them to take care of one another—a reflection of the nurturing heart that guided her every day.
She shared a devoted marriage with her husband, Roberto Rodriguez, and took immense pride in their children, Michelle Rodriguez and Gabriel Rodriguez. Her role as a mother was one she embraced with unwavering love and dedication. She was deeply loved not only because she was the youngest of her siblings but also because of the way she gave so freely of herself—to family members and strangers alike.
Yen's kindness left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Her heart always had room for more—more people to love, more burdens to share, more kindness to give. She will be remembered as the best sister and mother by those closest to her.
May Yen's memory continue to bring comfort and inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to known her. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St.
Susanna Catholic Church, 1210 E Main St., Plainfield, IN 46168. If bringing flowers please bring purple or white flowers, as purple was her favorite color.
