Yolanda "Yoie" Brown

Yolanda Marie Brown, affectionately known as "Yoie" and lovingly called "Maga" by her granddaughter Jalyn, of Plainfield, NJ, departed this life at home on February 3, 2026. She was born on November 21, 1961, at Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield to

Pamela "Franklin" Jones and William Brown Jr.

As the eldest child, Yolanda learned early how to love and care for others unconditionally. She was known for her quiet and sweet demeanor, as well as being a Trekkie "Star Trek fan." She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and a nurturing

presence within her community. She married her former husband Tyrone T. Richardson (Deceased 2006), with whom she shared four children: Marcus Richardson, Anthony Richardson, Christina Richardson Blake (Jason Blake), and

Ashley Richardson.

Yolanda dedicated over 20 years of service as a Certified Nursing Assistant, finding purpose and fulfillment in caring for others.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved father and bonus mother, William and Mary Brown; bonus father, Donald C. Jones; her children Marcus Richardson, Anthony Richardson, Christina Richardson Blake, and Ashley Richardson;

granddaughters Zariah Thomas, Ameris Richardson, and Jalyn Blake; bonus granddaughter Zanya Thomas; great-grandson Ishmael Romero; six sisters; two brothers; two uncles; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

She was predeceased by her former husband Tyrone Richardson, her mother Pamela Jones, and several beloved family members.
