Youssef Nissan Obituary
Born on January 26, 2000, in Ridgewood, NJ, Youssef brought immeasurable joy, laughter, and light into the lives of everyone who knew him. From an early age, he was known for his adventurous spirit, his kind and compassionate heart, and his remarkable ability to make others feel truly seen, heard, and loved.
Youssef was a proud graduate of Ramsey High School, Class of 2018, and went on to earn his Psychology degree from Rowan University in 2023. His warmth, humor, and vibrant presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his loving parents: his father Yacoub Nissan of Wayne, NJ; and his mother Nada Eliya Wood and stepfather George Wood of Ramsey, NJ. He is also survived by his dear uncle Sami Jamil Eliya and his wife Diane, and their children-Youssef's cousins Carol, James, Helen, and Steven Eliya-all of Ridgewood, NJ.
Youssef is lovingly remembered by his uncle Afram Nissan and his family of Sweden and uncle Malki Nissan and his family of Germany; and his aunts Janet, Souad, and Juliette, and their families also of Germany. He was predeceased by his Grandfather (Jiddou) Jamil Hanna Eliya who had a special place for Youssef in his heart from childhood until adulthood; his predeceased uncle Manasa and his aunt Samia, who now welcome him in heaven with love.
A private burial service will be held the morning of Tuesday, July 1, followed by a public memorial service at 11:00 AM at Youssef's home church, First Presbyterian Church, Ridgewood, NJ. A reception will follow in the church hall, where friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance.

A heart that loved deeply, a soul that felt everything.
Joe´s legacy is one of compassion, creativity, and quiet strength. He faced life´s challenges with courage and always found room to lift others, even when he was carrying heavy burdens of his own. He was a protector, a deep thinker, and a loyal friend - the kind of person whose presence lingered long after the conversation ended.
Though Joe´s earthly journey has ended, the love he gave and the light he shared will continue to ripple through the lives he touched. He is now free - reunited with peace, held in grace, and watching over us all with that gentle smile we´ll never forget.
