Yusuf Muwanga, born on September 19, 1959, in Kibibi, Butambala, passed away on July 31, 2025, in Boston, Massachusetts. Yusuf’s life was marked by a dedication to both his family and his varied career pursuits.
Yusuf's foundational education began at Kibibi UMEA P S and continued at Kako SSS, where he attained his O' level qualifications. His educational background grounded him for a diverse career path and instilled values that he carried throughout his life. Thereafter, Yusuf joined the business world and worked in Kampala for many years before he relocated to The United States of America, where he settled in Aurora, Colorado.
He engaged in multiple roles throughout his professional journey, having worked at esteemed organizations including the United States Postal Services and First Data. Ultimately, Yusuf became a successful private business owner of BB Janitorial, where he left an indelible mark on his community through his commitment to service and entrepreneurship. From Colorado he moved to Boston, where he has lived and worked in Private Transportation till the time of his passing.
He had a passion for music, our house was always full of those rumba beats.
Boney is survived by his children, grandchildren, brothers, and sisters. He was predeceased by his mother, Gertrude Namatovu, of Katabira, Kibibi, Butambala, and father Ahmed Kigonya, of Katabira, Kibibi, Butambala.
Yusuf Muwanga will be laid to rest at Saint Simeon Catholic Cemetery in Aurora, Colorado, on August 28, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. (MST) as family and friends join in remembering a life dedicated to hard work, family, community and his country. The service will be officiated by Pr Tom Mugerwa from Uganda.
