Yvonne C. Berta

Yvonne C. (Reedy) Berta, age 87, of Brookline, formerly of of Liberty Borough, died January 1, 2026, at home. Born February 2, 1938, in Greensburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Howard Reedy and Eleanor (Mansfield) Johnson and the wife of the late Ronald W. Berta and life partner of the late David Hillman. Yvonne worked with children providing in home care for many families throughout her life. She enjoyed hunting treasures at local flea markets, crocheting, and playing cards. Yvonne had a deep passion for helping others and will be best remembered as the person that would give you the shirt off of her back. She also leaves behind her beloved pet dog, "Murphy." Yvonne is survived by her children, Howard S. (Belinda) Berta of Avonmore, Bonna L. (Gary) Pearson of North Huntingdon, and Barry Berta of Greenock; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; Dear friends, Christopher (Donna) Hillman of Brookline with whom she resided; also many other family and friends. In addition to her parents, husband, and life partner, she was also preceded in death by her sons, Ronald C. and David G, Berta; sisters, Susan Dworek and Louise Johnson; and brother James Johnson, Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Committal prayers and burial will follow in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park. Yvonne's family would like to extend a heartfelt, "Thank you," to her caregiver Shawntae Griffen and those at AHN Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the White Oak Animal Safe Haven, 2295 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131.
