Yvonne Francis

Yvonne Lucille Francis, age 73, peacefully departed from this world on December 13, 2025, at her home in Des Moines, Iowa, surrounded by her devoted family. A celebration of her rich and beautiful life will be held on January 3, 2026, at New Beginnings Christian Fellowship in Des Moines from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m., with a private family burial to follow at a later date.

Born on January 3, 1952, Yvonne was the cherished daughter of George and Vivian (Woods) Daniels and spent her formative years in the heart of Des Moines, where she graduated from Tech High School in 1970. She was a dedicated mother who raised her family in Des Moines before furthering her education at DMACC, earning her associate degree. Following her education, Yvonne devoted over 20 years of her life to serving the city of Des Moines as a valued clerk until her retirement.

Yvonne was an active member of the New Beginnings Christian Fellowship in Des Moines, drawing strength and joy from her faith and community. She found immense happiness in spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, attending their various events, and sharing in their milestones. Yvonne had a passion for reading and gardening, taking pride in nurturing her beautiful flowers. She enjoyed participating in Oprah's Book Club and was known for her generosity, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. A nurturing spirit, she was a mother to many, offering warmth and compassion to all who crossed her path.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Paul Francis; her devoted sons, Russell Parkey Jr., Jermaine (Erica) Parkey, and Jason (Misty) Parkey; her precious grandchildren, Tremaine, Shyanne, Nancy, Jacob, Chase, Ada, Arabia, Justice, Jayvon, Keon, Dayton, and Kendon Parkey; as well as her great-grandchildren, Zanyia, Tamaj, Brooklyn, Kendrick, Maverick, Merick, Kaden and Addilyn Parkey. She is also survived by her siblings, Leane Banks and Robert Miller, a multitude of nieces and nephews, a host of in-laws, and many close friends whose lives she touched deeply.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, her grandchild, Mercedes Arnett, as well as her brother William Sharp and half-sister Felicia Daniels.

In honoring her legacy, memorial contributions may be directed to Yvonne's family.
