We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved sister, aunt, and friend. Surrounded by her loving siblings, Yvonne passed away peacefully in her home in Sag Harbor on the 29th July 2025,
Predeceased by her beloved parents, Gerard and Kay Rafferty (nee Boyle), and brother Ken, and survived by her loving siblings Gerri, Ray, Eileen and Celia, sister-in-law Ita, and their partners, Noel, Terry, and Bonnie. She was a very special and treasured aunt to Jason, Erin, Tara, Aran, Oisin, Siobhan, Cian, Dearbhla, Rachel, Jasper, Julian, and Dylan; and grand aunt to Eoin, Shea, Emilia, Andrew, and Ruadhan. She held a special place in the hearts of all including extended family members too numerous to mention.
"Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us day by day"
While Yvonne is now soaring high and exploring new horizons, her memory will live on with all of us and will continue to bring us joy as she did throughout her life.

Remembering you Yvonne and your loving family Gerri, Ray, Eileen, and Celia at this very sad time. It was a privilege to have shared so many great times with Yvonne since our schoolgirl days in Ireland, and later our wonderful holiday in New York and more fun times after we moved to London. With treasured memories Yvonne will never be forgotton. Esthereen.

Yvonne´s passion and exuberance for life were so much a part of her that I never remember a time when she was not bursting to share whatever interesting ideas she had on her mind. And what a clever mind she possessed. Yvonne was not just an accomplished professional but was a fervent, dedicated champion of women and of those less fortunate. Yvonne never failed to ask about my family and to listen and remember my news. .. something of a lost art these days. She in turn always spoke so lovingly of her family and their adventures. I can still hear her wonderful laughter ringing out at the many parties we attended and the moments we shared. I like to think Yvonne is at the right hand of God now regaling him with her stories and entertaining a choir of angels. Yvonne you were truly a force of nature! The world has lost a very bright and loving soul.

Yvonne was a woman who could light up the room with her presence. I always took delight in hearing her views on the day´s cultural, social and political issues. Her extraordinary knowledge and enthusiasm was rare and inspiring. Yvonne´s radiant personality, kind heart and lilting brogue will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. I will be among the many who will cherish her memory.

Over the many years of knowing and working with you, I also had the privilege of getting to know and work with Yvonne. I was deeply saddened to hear of her passing. I know how close you two were, and my heart goes out to you and your family during this difficult time.
Please accept my heartfelt sympathy and condolences. I hope you find comfort in the memories and joyful moments you all shared together. Yvonne was a lovely and sincere person, and I feel fortunate to have known her.
May she rest in peace and be remembered for all the meaningful contributions and accomplishments she achieved.

I was saddened to hear of Yvonne´s passing.. I had the pleasure of flying with Yvonne and Gerri at Eastern Airlines.. I was always amazed at her commitment of obtaining her degrees and continuing to fly full time. She was always so sweet and kind to all she encountered.. I know she´s being missed so much.

Sincere condolences to Gerri and all the family. I'm so sorry for your loss. Yvonne was a remarkable woman who showed me great kindness, warmth and generosity. She was a very dynamic, quick-witted woman with a no-nonsense kind of intelligence that cut to the core of issues. When I was much younger and at a crossroads in my career, Yvonne encouraged me to do what I'd always wanted to do with my life - and it paid off.
She welcomed me into both her homes and even sheltered me from the storm - literally - when Hurricane Sandy struck and I had to escape to Columbus Circle for running water and a hot meal.
She loved her extended family and had such a special bond with Gerri whose love, companionship and big-sister energy sustained her through the best and the worst of times.
Above all, I think Yvonne loved to laugh and she cracked me up many times with her wry observations and dead-pan wit. I hope she's laughing long and hard in a kind and caring part of the universe right now.

Yvonne was a force of nature. Her passionate advocacy for young girls in many different countries was an inspiration to her students and colleagues. Her interesting conversations and perspectives will be missed by many. It was a pleasure and a privilege to work with her interesting conversations the Psychology Department at Pace University.
