Yvonne Nadine "Bonnie" Wolfe, 87, of Paragon, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the Owen Valley Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Spencer, Indiana.
Bonnie was born on Tuesday, July 19, 1938, in Spencer, Indiana, to the late Virgil E. and Mary L. (Clutter) Dunn. She was a proud graduate of Patricksburg High School, Class of 1956.
On September 2, 1963, she married the love of her life, Wingrove Wolfe, with whom she shared many wonderful years until his passing on February 9, 2008.
Bonnie lived a full and varied life marked by hard work, dedication, and the joy she found in helping others. She worked for many years as a switchboard operator at Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center in Indianapolis before retiring. Prior to that, she served as a special needs teacher and also did boat upholstery work while living in South Carolina.
She was a longtime member of the Lions Club in Clermont, Indiana, and the Moose Lodge in South Carolina. After spending meaningful years in the Carolinas and West Virginia, she made Morgan County her home for the past 25 years.
Bonnie was happiest when surrounded by the people she loved. Family was her everything, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She took great pride in homemaking and delighted in vegetable and flower gardening, cooking, canning, catering, and crafting. She also enjoyed playing euchre and was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan.
She is survived by her two sons, Richard J. Wolfe and Raymond E. Wolfe; one granddaughter; and her sister-in-law, Marcie "Sis" Wolfe; many nieces and nephews; and her wonderful neighbors who were more like family, Mary and Blaine Link and Katie and Eric Chambon. Along with her parents and husband, Bonnie was preceded in death by a son, Harold Secrest; brother, Robert Dunn; and three sisters, Rosie Talkington, Frances McMullen and Fern Sasse.
Bonnie leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and devotion that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Her family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Heart-to-Heart Hospice for the love and care they offered Bonnie and the family.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM in West Ridge Park Cemetery in Indianapolis where Bonnie will be laid to rest beside her late husband.
