Yvonne Jan Woo

Mrs. Yvonne Jan (Ho) Woo, aka Yow Jan Woo of San Diego, was born on November 27, 1923 in Zhong Shan, China, and passed away at age 94 on July 11, 2018 in San Diego, California. Yvonne immigrated to the U.S. after marrying George Woo in November of 1948. They were married 23 years, until George passed in 1971. Owner of Taipei Gardens Restaurant, she introduced dim sum to San Diego. Her children worked alongside of her at the restaurant until she retired in 1987. Yvonne enjoyed mahjong, gardening and eating out with family and friends. She is survived by her children: Alton, Duncan, Veda, Mark, and Damon, their spouses and 13 grandchildren. Rev. Steven Chan will officiate Yvonne's service on Thursday, July 26 at 11:30 a.m. at El Camino Memorial Park, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, California. Guest are welcome from 10:30 a.m. for visitation.
