Zachary Shoemaker, 19, of Kingston, passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born in Wilkes-Barre, June 22, 2004, and was the son of Jason Shoemaker and his fiancé, Tracy Bronsburg and Traci Ford and her boyfriend, Robert Boedecker.
Zack earned his high school diploma from Wyoming Valley West and was staying at McGuire Memorial Center in New Brighton.
He was preceded in death by paternal great-grandparents, Robert and Betty Shoemaker and Laing Coolbaugh; and maternal great-grandparents; Anna and Chuck Eustice
In addition to his parents, Zack is survived by sisters, Abby, Natalie and Aubriana; brother, Jayce; paternal great-grandparent, Priscilla Coolbaugh; paternal grandparents, Rodman Shoemaker, Tauna Thomas and Cathy Lee Shoemaker; aunts and uncles, Brandon Shoemaker; Jessica and George Ravert; Joseph Ford; Harry and Lisa Garrison; godmother, Stephanie Sullivan; numerous cousins; and his favorite dog, Blitz.
The family would like to thank the Bronsburg family for their support, along with all the doctors and nurses at both Geisinger facilities. Also, a special thank you to St. Joe's and the staff at McGuire Memorial for all their love to Zachary over the past two years.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
