Zbigniew “Ziggy” Bronislaw Mazurek, of Berlin, CT, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025, at the age of 58, surrounded by family and love. After being diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer, he fought for twenty months with unwavering courage and strength, facing his illness with grace.

Born on December 22, 1966, in Bielsko-Biala, Poland, Zbigniew immigrated to the United States in 1989 to build a life in America. He was a hard-working, skilled general home contractor and home builder who spent over 25 years building and fixing homes that provided comfort and security to many families. The homes he built stand as a testament to his quality of work, talent, and vision. Most meaningfully, he built the home where his family lived their entire lives and where his family continues to reside today. Every nail he hammered and every tree he planted are everlasting symbols of his love, dedication, and care. He had the ability to fix anything and always had a story to tell. His witty sense of humor brought laughter to his family and friends, with a creativity and uniqueness that could never be replicated. His work ethic impressed everyone who came across him, but no matter what, he always showed up for his family and friends.

Zbigniew was a dedicated family man and a loving husband and father. His life was defined by love, integrity, and quiet strength. A devoted husband to Anna for 32 years, they shared a life built on love, partnership, and unwavering support. As a doting father to Marta and Robert, he was a constant source of guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love. He was truly a remarkable husband, father, and selfless man. He was a pillar of strength and the epitome of hard work, dedication, and love. He was always happy, finding joy in the “little things” in life. He was extremely humble throughout his entire life; he would always rather give than receive and never expected anything in return.

He found his greatest joy in spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed being outdoors, skiing in the winter, spending time at the beach in the summer, and watching soccer year-round. He had a passion for food and enjoyed cooking. A true enthusiast of cars, he always enjoyed attending car shows. His favorite place to travel was Europe, especially Poland, where his roots are.

He will always be remembered for his deep love for his family, his sense of humor, hard work, dedication, and strength. His love lives on in the home he built and the family he devoted his life to. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Zbigniew is survived by his loving wife, Anna, and his two children, Robert and Marta. He is also survived by his brother, Wojciech, his wife Dorota, and their children, Wiktor and Lena, who reside in Poland. Zbigniew was predeceased by his parents, Jadwiga and Andrzej Mazurek, of Bielsko-Biala, Poland.

Many thanks go to Franciscan Home Care and Hospice for their compassionate care and support.

A service to celebrate his beautiful journey and honor his memory will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Hwy., Berlin. His funeral service will begin on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in New Britain. He will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain.

Zbigniew „Ziggy” Bronislaw Mazurek z Berlina (Connecticut) odszedl w spokoju 14 grudnia 2025 roku, w wieku 58 lat, otoczony rodzina i miloscia.

Potrafil naprawic wszystko i zawsze mial do opowiedzenia jakas historie.

Zbigniew byl oddanym czlowiekiem rodziny, kochajacym mezem i ojcem. Jego zycie bylo naznaczone miloscia, uczciwoscia i cicha sila. Przez 32 lata byl oddanym mezem Anny — razem tworzyli zycie oparte na milosci, partnerstwie i nieustajacym wsparciu. Jako troskliwy ojciec Marty i Roberta byl nieustannym zródlem wskazówek, zachety i bezwarunkowej milosci. Byl naprawde wyjatkowym mezem, ojcem i bezinteresownym czlowiekiem. Stanowil filar sily oraz uosobienie ciezkiej pracy, oddania i milosci. Zawsze potrafil cieszyc sie zyciem, znajdujac radosc w „malych rzeczach”.

Pasjonowal sie jedzeniem i lubil gotowac.

Bedzie bardzo brakowac go wszystkim, którzy mieli zaszczyt go znac.

Serdeczne podziekowania kierujemy do Franciscan Home Care and Hospice za troskliwa opieke wsparcie.
