Zoe Grace Lucas

Zoe Grace Lucas, 26, of Lake in the Hills, passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with Mitochondrial Neurogastrointestinal Encephalomyopathy, a rare genetic disorder she fought with extraordinary strength and spirit.
Born on January 15, 1999, in Evanston, Illinois, Zoe was the beloved daughter of Paul and Sarah (Paxton) Lucas. In her youth she participated in gymnastics and cheerleading. She graduated from Huntley High School in 2017. Zoe was known for her spunky, feisty personality and her strong-willed, beautiful presence that brightened every room. Her quick wit and humor brought joy to those around her.
Zoe had a passion for makeup, music, and traveling anywhere. She loved attending concerts, watching medical shows, and ended each day with her favorite comfort program, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Her dogs adored her-often choosing only her-and she loved them just as fiercely. A devoted daughter, sister, and friend, Zoe touched countless lives and will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Zoe is survived by her mother, Sarah Lucas (Chris Scott); her father, Paul (Julie) Lucas; her brothers, Zachery (Cassandra) Lucas and Zane (Madison) Lucas; and nephew, Duke Gaxson Lucas, her step step brothers, August and Sullivan, her step sister, Lila; her grandparents, Alan (Amy) Lucas and Josephine Lucas; her step-grandmother, Elizabeth Paxson; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rebecca and Richard Paxton.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 4–7 p.m. at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Huntley Animal House Shelter, an organization close to Zoe's heart.
