JoAnn Gentile Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DeFiore Funeral & Cremation Service on Dec. 8, 2025.
JoAnn Rose Glazier-Gentile, age 90, of Chicagoland area, was called home to the Lord, passing peacefully and surrounded by her loving family on December 5th, 2025. Born and raised in Chicago, she lived a life rooted in faith, service, and devotion to God and her family.
A proud and loving mother of eleven children, she embraced her vocation of motherhood with grace, patience, and a heart full of faith. She now rejoins in Heaven her husband, James Charles Gentile, and her two precious children, Paul and Carol, who welcomed her with open arms into eternal rest.
Her life reflected her deep faith in God - caring for others, praying daily, and trusting fully in God's plan. She was the heart of her home, offering love, comfort, and quiet strength to everyone who crossed her doorway. Her kindness, humility, and unwavering belief in God's goodness touched all who knew her.
She leaves behind nine children, James and Geri Gentile, Darlene Gentile, Kathy and Carmin Stramaglia, David Gentile, Michael and Teri Gentile, Robert and Stefanie Gentile, Diana and David Moles, Sandra and Frank Hayes, and Holly and Joseph Samme. 22- grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren, her immediate brother/sisters and countless relatives and friends who will continue to carry her faith-filled legacy forward. Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice knowing she is reunited with the Lord and her loved ones, embraced in His eternal peace.
A visitation will be held at St Mary's Church 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley, Il on December 12th, 2025, at 9:00am followed by a Mass at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to St Mary's Church Huntley in her name.
