Zong was a retired butcher for Shady Maple Farmer's Market in Pennsylvania. He served in the U.S. Special Forces In Laos during the Vietnam War, and he was of the Christian faith.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Yee (Thao) Yang; six sons, Wa Neng Yang of New Blaine, Arkansas, Pheng Yang of Kutztown, Pennsylvania, Philip Yang of Denver, Pennsylvania, Nathan Yang of Paris, Arkansas, Joseph Yang of Newton, North Carolina, and Jason Yang of Branch, Arkansas; four daughters, Seang Lee of Newton, North Carolina, Amy Yang of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Chia Rivera of Dardanelle, Arkansas, and Yeng Yang of Bonnerdale, Arkansas; six brothers, Chia Pao Yang, Sai Thao Yang, cha Yang, Eng Yang, Ger Yang, and Chia Yang; five sisters, Ntxawm Yang, Mai Yeng Yang, Blia Yeng Yang, Mee Yang, and Ntsov Yang; and (30) grandchildren.
