His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 9 a.m., from Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Church, Hartford. He will be laid to rest in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 1st, from 4-8 p.m., at Newington Memorial. Memorial donations may be made to UConn Health Diabetes Center Development Office, 10 Talcott Notch Rd., Suite 100, Farmington, CT 06032. To my dear husband Ziggy,
It was Holy Wednesday when God saw you were getting tired and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around you whispered “Come to me”.
Although I love you dearly, I could not make you stay. Heaven is now your home.
It has been one very long year, 365 days and lonely nights.
Now you only come to me in my dreams; some happy and some sad, but I'm glad to see you anyhow.
I laugh and I cry as I go through so many emotions and memories.
I miss you very much – your company, your voice, your footsteps, your smiles, and your good advice.
I understand that life does not end at death and that we will meet again.
You spent 70 years on this earth and left many friends and family with memories that will be with us forever.
God broke my heart to prove to me that he only takes the best.
