Joe Devine Obituary

Joe Devine passed away on Thursday, July 31st, 2025. Born on August 8th, 1968, Joe was widely known as the owner of Devine Construction. He spent more than 20 years working throughout the valley, helping Napa residents and local businesses remodel, update and transform their homes and businesses. He was liked and well-respected by his clients, business partners, and employees, having built a reputation as an honest, hard working, and reliable member of the community.

Joe loved hiking, exploration, reading, and being 'Papa' to his beloved grandchildren. Loving the outdoors, he could always be found on hiking trails and camping trips, most often with his family and friends. On afternoons and weekends, he spent as much time as possible playing outside and spending time with his grandchildren.

Joe is survived by his wife, Tracy; his children, Joey Devine, Robby George (Stephanie), and Emily George (Brian); his mother, Virginia; his father, Joe Sr.; his step-mother, Karen; his sister, Heather Arnold; and his three grandchildren, Lilly, Olivia, and Henry George.

Joe will be remembered for his strength of character, unwavering principles, and love for his family and friends. His kindness, sense of humor, and uncompromising dedication to those around him were gifts to all those he came across in his life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Saint Apollinaris Catholic School, where his grandchildren are students, as were his children.

A rosary will be held at Saint Apollinaris Catholic Church on Sunday, September 7th at 6:00PM. A celebration of life will be held at Tulocay Cemetery the following day, September 8th at 1:00PM. Friends and family are welcome to attend both.

Joe was many things to many people. Loving son, brother, father, husband, and friend to start. His sudden passing is such a tragic loss.

Joe will be extremely missed. He was our friend and in many cases our savior in all things construction. Always willing to help and so generous with his time and talent. We will miss his childlike joy for travel and exploration. His laugh and his wit. We will sadly just miss our dear friend and the adventures that were yet to have been had. We are so thankful for the years that we did have together. Rest in peace Joe!! You were loved in this world and we will see you in the next. R&S

Joe...How can you be gone? Your love for life and living was so great and it matched your larger than life personality. Such a kind-hearted soul and a genuinely wonderful human. There is a hole in many hearts that can never be filled. You will always be loved and missed greatly. <3

There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone, the light remains. I will forever love you my perfect son.
