Nancy Brace Davis
1972 - 2021
Our beautiful Nancy Brace Davis died at home from complications with cancer on March 13, surrounded by her family. She battled fearlessly for eleven months, choosing positivity, strength, and grace. She was 48.
She lived her entire life in the Valley. An alumna of St. Apollinaris and Justin-Siena High School, Nancy grew up playing and excelling at sports. One of the many highlights of her childhood was playing softball for the legendary Mr. O on the mighty Sparrows softball team when triple victory scoops at Thrifty's were the norm, and dance parties and belly laughs were too many to count.
Nancy was blessed in her young adult life with her daughter, Lauren Ashley Kachur. With the tremendous support of her parents, Nancy and Lauren shared a special bond.
Nan worked at several resorts and restaurants before she attended NVCC and earned her degree in Early Childhood Development. A compassionate educator, she enjoyed her years as a preschool teacher and was beloved for her warm smile and infectious enthusiasm.
Her true calling came in her mid-20s when she changed careers. After earning her massage therapy and esthetics licenses, she worked at several prestigious resorts and was highly respected in the spa industry. Together with her sister and lifelong kindred spirit, Jackie Brace Reinsimar, Nancy opened Glow Skin & Body Care in 2001, where she had the pleasure and privilege of working for thirteen years with the most amazing clients and friends. Several years after opening Glow, she met Jeff Davis, the love of her life, and together they had two beautiful children-Violet Beatrice and Emmett Leo. Much to her clients' dismay, Nan retired in 2014 to be home full-time with Violet and Emmett. She relished those years with them. Her unwavering devotion as a mother-and grandmother-was wonderful to witness. Nothing gave her more happiness and pride.
Since Nan was lovingly referred to as Nannie B for most of her life by close friends and family, and Auntie B by her sweet nieces, her new title of Grannie B just made sense when her adorable granddaughter, Gwendolyn Elaine, was born.
Nancy lived a joyful life. Her family and friends were her everything, and she loved them fiercely. She turned heads everywhere she went and lit up every room she walked into. She had the most fabulous curly hair that always smelled lovely. She was the best gift giver, always knowing exactly what someone would enjoy, and she nailed it every single time. The charming aprons and skirts she made were a favorite among her Stone Bridge School community. Her friends could always count on her sense of humor and adventure and her strong conviction in her beliefs. She loved to travel-Hawaii, Belgium, The Netherlands, France, and Spain were just a few favorite destinations. Show tunes and theater brought her much joy. She saw most performances in San Francisco, but her last show was on Broadway in New York City shortly before the pandemic shut everything down. She loved camping, lounging at the beach, shopping, mowing the lawn, lemon-flavored anything, a glass of bubbles, and her dog, Trixie. Nancy had "magic hands" and gave the BEST massage. She was an absolute blast to be with, and she was so loved.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Jeff Davis, and three children, Lauren, Violet and Emmett; her loving parents Richard Brace and Patty Brace (Angelo); her sister Jackie Reinsimar (Lee) and nieces Olivia, Emaline, and Maeve; her in-laws Sharon and Jim Davis; her brother-in-law Vincent Davis (Angela); her granddaughter, Gwendolyn, and soon-to-be son-in-law Anthony Hughey; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
We plan on celebrating Nancy's life on her birthday in October when the world is safer. Details to follow as date approaches.

I am crushed. I would see Nancy walking her dog on Kingsford Dr almost everyday. Though she didn´t know me she would always smile and wave. I think it made of friends. RIP Nancy and my most heartfelt condolences to her family. Especially Jackie who I do know but didn´t know you were sisters until recently. I am so sorry

Jackie, I used to live in Alta Heights and came to you for lash/brows, and I vividly remember your beautiful sister Nancy at Glow. I know you were best friends with your sister and loved her so much. What an incredible woman she was. My heart goes out to you, her immediate family, friends, etc.
I didn't know her personally but I will always remember her hair and how she had the most bubbly personality at the shop. I am very sorry to hear about this tremendous loss to so many. Bless you all.
