NAPA - Perry N. Hoover was born on March 1, 1925, to Sherman and Emma Hoover. The birth took place in a smokehouse on the family farm in Snyder, OK.
He had three siblings: Marvin, Otis and Gladys Hoover. He had 12 aunts and uncles that he considered to be his brothers and sisters. He and his three siblings were raised by his grandparents.
Perry was drafted into the Army during World War II and served as a Private First Class. He moved to California after the war, where he met his wife, Dorothy-Deane Palmer. They were married on October 3, 1952. Dorothy preceded him into heaven on April 20, 2020. Perry and Dorothy have two daughters Patty and Michele. After 30 years of service, Perry retired from his job as a gardener/maintenance worker for the Western Division, Naval Engineering Command in San Bruno, CA. In May 1994, after Dorothy retired, they moved to Napa, CA.
A memorial service, with military honors, will be held at Napa Valley Memorial Park Chapel on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 1:00 PM.
