Peter B. Bedford
Respected real estate developer, Peter B. Bedford, 84, of Napa, CA, passed away peacefully earlier this week surrounded by his family.
A graduate of Cranbrook Schools and Stanford University, Peter did his military service in the Navy before returning Stateside to pursue what would become his lifelong passion: real estate. He started with convenience stores and grew to large distribution centers, ultimately developing and managing 40 million square feet of retail, office and industrial properties. His humor, zest for life and unflagging optimism drove his passion that quality aesthetics go hand in hand with quality construction. A strong believer in giving back to the communities in which he had a presence, Peter gave his time and experience as an advisor, consultant and trustee to many organizations whom he felt could make a difference.
To honor his generous and larger-than-life personality, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, you identify a need and make a difference. Some entities in which he had a special interest include the California Academy of Sciences, Grand Canyon Trust, Ducks Unlimited, and the Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics.
Private services will be held.

Mr Bedford hired my Lafayette based video production company to produce a sales presentation for his Napa valley corporate Park. It was interesting working with him he was an imaginative and dynamic individual. I was proud of the work I did on that project to Napa valley.

Peter was larger than life and always a pleasure to work with. I think I will forever be able to hear his big, booming voice. It's those that are such a delight to be around that bring us such sorrow in their passing. He will be missed.

I had the privilege of providing medical care to Peter for several years prior to my retirement. He was a gentleman and always a pleasure to see. He will be missed by those who knew him and will live in their hearts and memory. My heart felt sympathy to Peter´s family.
