Suzanne (Solt) Duncan Obituary

Our beloved Suzanne Duncan passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, March 19th, 2024, after having battled chronic medical ailments for many years. She is survived by her husband Jon-Michael Duncan and her cherished children, Tyler (19) and Brooklyn (16), as well as extended family and friends. Suzanne was well cared for by the people who loved her, and maintained a quiet, private life.

Suzanne was born on March 11th, 1980 in Napa at Queen of the Valley Hospital and is the youngest of two daughters, to Dan and Karen Solt, both preceded in death. She is remembered fondly by countless friends made from her time at Browns Valley Elementary School, Redwood Middle School and Napa High School, where she graduated in 1998. In her youth, Suzanne was known as a formidable softball player with an intense, fiery personality that carried her confidently into adulthood. With a soulful voice, she was proud to have sung in the Napa High School Chorr and never lost the love of music. Even in her final days she found the energy to sing a few lines from her favorite 90's R&B songs, to our delight.

Having moved to the Chicago area in 2012 to support Jon-Michael's career, Suzanne was excited to experience life in a new state, and to be a stay-at-home mother for her children. When her medical ailments persisted, they moved back to Elk Grove, closer to friends and family for support and where she felt most at home.

Suzanne will be remembered as a caring wife and mother, a trustworthy and dependable friend, a strong woman with a steady poise, and an unforgettably mischievous smile.

We would be honored for those of you who were touched by Suzanne in life to join us for a Memorial Service at 1pm on Saturday, May 4th, at the First Christian Church of Napa, 2659 1st Street, Napa, Ca. We plan to share stories and connect in her name, with light snacks and desserts to follow on site.

Suzanne and her sister Michelle lived across the street on Anita Court in Browns Valley, Napa. She was the cutest little girl with a sunshine smile. Suzanne and Michelle loved playing street crossing guards on the court full of friends while they ride their bikes and went along with their strict rules of street conduct. The Solt girls. On behalf of the Broyles family and the Anita Court families, our deepest sympathies for your family.

Our family lost a dear member, our daughter-in-law Suzanne. We got to know her better and better over the years. We knew she was the right one for our son when we first met her. She loved anything Disney and that´s why he proposed to her at Disneyland in front of Cinderella´s Castle. They made many trips there with their kids. After moving to Chicago they explored many of the wonderful sights available to them and she learned to love Wrigley Field and baseball. She had many friends from years earlier and they all kept in touch especially as her illness took hold. We will miss her very much. Always in our hearts Suzanne
