Al Kupelian Obituary
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Marie Kupelian; and a niece, Betsy Kupelian.
Al died Friday, January 26, 2007 at his home. He was born December 16, 1933, in Alexandrette, Turkey. He grew up in Lebanon and immigrated to the United States in the late-1950's. He earned his B.S. degree in civil engineering at the University of Illinois at Champaign. Al worked for many years at Wil-Freds Construction, Naperville. He also owned his own general contracting firm, Kupco Construction, Ltd., which concentrated on large commercial projects in Miami and Houston. He worked for Harbour Contractors, Plainfield, until his retirement in 2002. He was a cherished and loving family man. In his spare time, Al was an enthusiastic arborist and skilled carpenter.
Visitation Monday, January 29, 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.
Additional Visitation Tuesday, January 30, 10:00-10:30 A.M. at St. James Armenian Church, 816 Clark St., Evanston. A Church Service will follow at 11:00 A.M. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie, IL.
