Barbara Lee Obituary
MADISON, Wis. - Barbara Ann Lee, age 86, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, at Oakwood Village East. She was born on June 26, 1936, in Milwaukee, Wis., the daughter of Stanley Matuszak and Mary (Landowski) Matuszak. Barbara graduated from Holy Angels Academy High School in Milwaukee, then went on to earn her Associates Degree in accounting from Milwaukee Area Technical College. She married George Lee on Nov. 24, 1956, in Milwaukee, Wis. Barbara and George lived in Milwaukee, Brookfield, and then moved to Naperville, Ill., where they enjoyed living for many decades. While in Naperville, Barbara worked as an insurance claim adjuster for Travelers Insurance. She recently moved to Oakwood Village in Madison, Wis., to be closer to her daughters and grandchildren. She was enjoying an active lifestyle and meeting many new friends at Oakwood Village, while also exploring Madison. In her free time, Barbara loved to sew, knit, and partake in a variety of other crafts. She was an active member of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Milwaukee for many years and was a Girl Scout leader when her daughters were younger. Barbara is survived by her daughters, Colleen (Greg) Filtz, Cindy (Leon) Bunker and Candy Lee; grandchildren, Alex Bunker, Anna Bunker, Emilie Bunker, Cody Filtz and Noah Filtz; and nephew, Christopher Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Andrew Lee; her parents; and her sister, Mary Joann Matuszak-Davis. Private services will be held.
