Charles Dow Obituary

Dow, Charles Robert 'Chuck' age 90, died peacefully in his home in Naperville on October 10. Beloved husband of Ruth Dow (nee McNabb); loving father of Carol Dow Allen, Bruce Dow, and Linda Dow Griffith; fond grandfather of Robyn Allen, the late James Allen, Renee Dow Tate, Lauren Dow Zenteno Silva, Carolyn Griffith Berard, Megan Griffith, Kyle Griffith, and Noel Griffith. Graduate of University of Illinois-Urbana (BS, MS) and Eastern Illinois University (MBA), US Marine Corps veteran.

He was a professional farm manager, a fertilizer sales representative & district sales manager, a cooperative extension agent, and in other agricultural work. He was very active at church, was an ordained elder. He was a 4-H leader, in other 4-H service and other community service. He served as a mission volunteer teacher in 19 countries. Visitation from 11-noon on October 19, then Celebration of Life Service at noon at River Glen Presbyterian Church, 1140 Raymond Drive, Naperville. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Heifer International Foundation, PO Box 727, Little Rock, AR 72203, or to River Glen Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund (above) will be deeply appreciated.

I remember him as such a kind and gentle man. He was caring father and a great listener. He was a person to look up to and he was always kind to me. I still remember his Vega in the driveway.
