Podczerwinski, Daniel "Danny" Age 26, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 27, 2013 surrounded by the love of his family. He was born October 10, 1986 in Hinsdale, IL. Danny is survived by his devoted parents, Chuck and Sue; his loving sister, Krissy; his cherished aunts and uncles, David (Susan) Podczerwinski (Godfather), John (Gayle) Podczerwinski, Carole (Rick) Onik (Godmother), Ken Szemetulskis; his cousins, Amanda, Brittany and Courtney Podczerwinski, Alex and Matthew Podczerwinski, Dr. Jeff (Dr. Connie) Onik and their son, Jacob; Steve (Alicia) Onik and their children, Mackenzie and Bradley. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Helen Podczerwinski and Alphonse and Sophie "Sue" Szemetulskis. Danny was an Honors Graduate of Benet Academy, class of 2005. He earned his bachelors in Finance and Marketing from the University of Dayton, class of 2009 and was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. He loved to participate in all sports and was an extremely accomplished golfer. In 2010, Danny was proud to join P.S. & Associates, Naperville as an Underwriter and work alongside his father. He was a true friend to so many and there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for someone. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. For those who would like to leave a lasting tribute to Danny's life, memorials may be directed to the Benet Academy Father Ronald Fund, 2200 Maple Avenue, Lisle, IL 60532. Visitation will Friday, May 31, 2:00 until 9:00 PM at the Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. Prayers will begin on Saturday, June 1, 9:15 AM at the funeral home chapel and proceed to a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 801 S. Eola Rd., Aurora. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, Wheaton.

Dan and I attended grade school together at OlGC, He was always the guy everyone wanted to hang out with and was the jock of the class. He always had a great sense of humor and always was kind to others. I am so sorry to hear about his passing and my prayers are with your family during this time.

Chuck, Sue and Krissy,

Words cannot even say how heavy our hearts are for the loss of Danny. We will remember the happy times at OLGC, the football and basketball games, He and Colin having so much fun. He was a wonderful young man and had such a great impact on everyone with his big smile. Danny was our son Patrick's college roommate and supported Patrick joining delta tau delta at University of Dayton. he was a wonderful friend and helped our son through the various stresses of college life. we have many memorable Podz stories and we still smile over such an engaging and personable young man. we had many fun family weekends with the Podczerwinski family in Dayton and we never tire of hearing about the funny escapades of life in the fraternity. it was a moment in time.
