Joanne E. Yackley, age 87, a lifelong resident of Naperville, IL, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Tabor Hills Healthcare Facility in Naperville. She was born February 28, 1931 in Naperville. Beloved daughter of the late John J. and Augusta (nee Berger) Yackley, dear sister of Mary Alice (the late Leonard) Schneider, Virginia (the late James) O'Toole, the late Clara Yackley, the late Frank (Sel) Yackley, the late John Yackley and the late Bob (the late Betty) Yackley, fond aunt to Kathy Rackley and Mike (Kathy) Yackley; Jim Schneider, Nancy (Michael) Walsh, Steve (Mary Ellen) Schneider, Bill (Jeri) Schneider; Jim O'Toole; John and Joe Yackley, Ayla (Simon) Johns, the late Steve Yackley and the late Patricia (Rick) Frett, great-aunt to many nieces and nephews. Joanne grew up in Naperville, attended SS. Peter and Paul School and was a graduate of Naperville Community High School. She was a longtime member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and worked for many years in the cafeteria at Naperville Central High School. Joanne enjoyed traveling abroad with the SS. Peter & Paul Young at Heart church group to such places as Egypt, Holland, Rome and Israel. She was also a member of the SS. Peter & Paul funeral choir known as the "Dead Beats." Visitation will be held Saturday, June 30, 2018, 8:30-10:30 AM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St, Naperville. Services will begin Saturday, 10:30 AM from the funeral home and will proceed to an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at SS. Peter Paul Catholic Church, 36 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville. Interment: SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Naperville.
