Joshua Fauver Obituary

Josh passed away unexpectedly on November 2, 2018 at his home in Atlanta. He was 39. His sudden passing has been devastating to his family and friends. Josh was born in Naperville, Illinois on December 4, 1978 and lived there with his family until 1985 when the family moved to the Atlanta area. He attended High School at St. Francis, The Galloway School and graduated from Pope High School. He earned his bachelors degree from Georgia State University. Josh had a deep and abiding love for music, literature, film and art. He was an avid reader with a vast and valued collection of books. His extensive collection of films, vinyl records and CDs serve as a testament to his passion for these art forms. Josh was a professional musician and songwriter and he began his career at a very early age. His extraordinary skills in his profession gave him a platform to form lasting friendships and meaningful acquaintances with people from all over the world. In addition to his skills on bass, guitar and drums he enjoyed creatively using synthesizers and computers to test and evaluate his ideas. He was privileged to travel our country and the world, experiencing and enjoying his passion for great and varied cuisine with people whose friendships he so cherished. He also was the owner of the record label Army of Bad Luck. The company was dedicated to promoting early stage bands whose talents he appreciated. He used his creativity to record sessions, produce the graphic art for album covers and merchandise, press the albums, promote the albums through media and also handled order fulfillment and shipping. He also dabbled in some commercial freelance music composition and sound design for clients including Nike, Sesame Street, C/Net and MTV2. Most recently, Josh and some musician friends formed a new group and were collaborating on a new album. We remember Josh as a loving son and brother who cared deeply about any of life's challenges that his family and friends might be facing. He was always quick to generously provide whatever emotional or substantive assistance he could. Josh is survived by his parents, Susan and Phil Fauver, sisters Brooke (Hayne) Drumheller, Jessica (Alan Hynes) Fauver, a nephew Jackson Drumheller, and a niece Quinn Drumheller. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to Hands on Atlanta, the Salvation Army (Kroc Center - Atlanta) or your local women's shelter. The family is currently arranging a Celebration of Josh's Life to be held in the Atlanta area in early December. Details will be made available as soon as plans are finalized.
