Linda Burner Obituary

Linda L. Burner (nee Golliher), age 70, a resident of Naperville, IL since 1964, died Sunday, April 5, 2009 in Fort Myers, FL.

She was born October 2, 1938 in Pittsfield, MA.

Loving wife of James B. Burner of Naperville, whom she married September 24, 1960; beloved mother of Susan (Michael) Burner Resko of Kenilworth, IL, Ginger (Martin) Burner Ovens of Naperville and James, Jr. (Beth) Burner of Aurora, IL; adored grandmother of Michael, James and Virginia Resko, Charles and Claire Ovens, Rachel and Joshua Burner; devoted daughter of the late Frank and Katherine Golliher; dear sister of Thomas (Judith) Golliher of Beverly Hills, FL and Richard Golliher of North Charleston, SC; fond aunt of many.

Linda grew up in Decatur, IL, was a member of Decatur High School's Class of 1956 and was a 1960 graduate of Miami University, Oxford, OH with a degree in education and a member of Alpha Phi Sorority. After graduating, Linda taught school and took care of her growing family. Linda was an active member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Naperville and the Knox Chancel Choir.

She also was a member/former member of Naperville Art Associates, Red Hat Society, HURRAH, AAUW, Naperville Junior Women's Club and the Edward Hospital Auxiliary. Linda volunteered at Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic and worked as a Welcome Wagon hostess and Mary Kay representative.

A celebration of Linda's life will take place Thursday, April 16, 2:00 P.M. at Knox Presbyterian Church, 1105 Catalpa Lane, Naperville. A reception will follow in the church. Future inurnment at Naperville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to: Knox Presbyterian Church Endowment Fund, 1105 Catalpa Lane, Naperville, IL 60540.
