Richard Harvey Obituary
He is survived by his wife, Eileen of Wheaton; daughter, Cynthia (John) Hildner of Naperville; son, Peter (Susan) Harvey of Naperville; son, Richard D. (Mary) Harvey M.D. of Peoria; son, Kevin (Michelle) Harvey of Wheaton; 13 grandchildren, Andrew, Zachary and Elisa Hildner, Sarah, Rachel, Emily and Grace Harvey, Erik and Tara Harvey, Joshua, Allison, Christina and Carolyn Harvey.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, in Salem Lutheran Church, 1629 S. 6th St., Rockford, with visitation from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There will also be a memorial service at 3 p.m. next week, Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 515 S. Wheaton Ave., Wheaton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Richard F. Harvey M.D. to Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital, 26W171 Roosevelt Rd., Wheaton, IL 60187. It is with the fondest and most respectful memories I send my sympathies to the entire Harvey family. I had the privilege of working with Dick and meeting all of his wonderful family over the years. My fondest memory of Dick is not that of his greatness and contribution to the field of rehabilitation.... although his contributions are many... but of his love of family and the closeness his family demonstrated in every way! The Harvey family is one that will forever remain one of my cherished privileges along the way at Marianjoy and beyond. What peace you have knowing he is with all those remarkable people before him and in the light of his lord.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Dr Harvey's sudden passing. He was a larger than life person and influenced my life greatly. I was always amazed at the presence he commanded. It was like everyone waited to hear what Dr Harvey had to say because his words were filled with great wisdom and depth.
My personal remembrance is of a fellow Rockford Swede who was also a great Badger fan. We shared a lot in common. Dr Harvey will never be forgotten. I will definitely remember him with great fondness.
