My father and Dr Mahurkar´s cousin, Late Shri Prabhakar Mahurkar would fondly reference Dr Mahurkar when it came to illustrating perseverance and professionalism. The human being in Dr Mahurkar was par excellence. He loved people, gave his heart and soul to keeping connect with us from such distance, and made us part of happy moments of His life.
I faintly remember the marriage ceremony of one of his children in a hall opposite Saras Bag Ganapati Mandir. I was young then. But can´t forget the love and affection with which He welcomed one and all.

You left a mark on us, Doctor Kaka. I met you just twice, but your mention would unknowingly make us feel proud of being connected with you. Your achievements were telling, and you paved path for others too. It's an empty feeling; you left a void.

I would like to offer my sincere sympathy to the entire Mahurkar family on the loss of your husband and father, Dr. Mahurkar. I saw the death notice and planned to write to you at the time, but I misplaced the clipping. Jyoti and Smriti, I remember meeting your father when you were in school. I was principal of St. Callistus at the time. Swati, I believe you had graduated when I came there. I know all of you have been successful due to the encouragement and motivation of your parents. I know you will miss your father as will your mother, You are all in my prayers as is he at this time. I will try to let others from St. Callistus know also.

Vinata and I are very saddened by your passing away.
