Dr. Campbell was the best administrator I worked with in my fifty plus years of teaching. I was Art Department Chairman at Willowbrook High School from 1970 till 1994. He provided me with the inspiration and freedom to try new curriculum.

I write this condolence with heavy heart. Experiencing fifty years of teaching and having Dr. Campbell as my Principal was the legacy of my teaching career. As you are aware he was highly interested in the arts and as Art Department Chairman his support helped to make our endeavors realized.
He was a unique Principal in that he allowed many teachers the freedom to teach, something that is unheard of today. He will be missed by the entire education community of Willowbrook High School. My deepest sympathy.

Being interviewed by Dr. Campbell for a position in the English Department was a challenge since one sensed his stature and his standards. I was so excited with the oppportunity he gave me and always knew he was approachable and willing to help me be the best teacher that I could be. Years later when I sat in his chair in the English Office, his presence and ideals could be felt. He was a great man, a superior roll model. My sympathies are with his family..

Dear Holly and family, Barb and I want you to know how sad we are to learn of Bill's passing. Holly, I'm sure you know how much Bill meant to me, and to so many other Willowbrook teachers. Bill was more than a superior teacher and principal, he was a mentor, a role model, and a good friend. I learned so much from him, and I will never forget his support and the generous acts of kindness he showed me over these many years. Our deepest sympathy to you and the boys.

Dearest Holly and Family, I was so sad to hear about Bill's passing-He was a very special, talented, giving man! John often spoke so highly of him, as he got to know him when he was principal at Willowbrook. John and I certainly remember all the FUN TIMES we had with you and Bill, at all the parties, up at your Wisconsin home and more...You have my deepest sympathy, Bill will be very missed.

To Holly and the children I offer my condolences on the loss of a wonderful person who provided great leadership for the faculty of Willowbrook H.S. I am especially grateful for the way that he mentored me as a new teacher and the trust he had in me as he gave me the opportunity to be a department chair. He was a delightful person to have known and will be fondly remembered by his former collegues.

When I was being interviewed for a position in the English Department your dad was the principal. We spent the whole time discussing split infinitives, double superlatives and passive voice. He cared very much about the English Department and Willowbrook. Always the gentleman and scholar. You have my sympathies.

When I joined the Willowbrook "family" in the mid 70's, Bill was our principal. He was an exceptional leader, a mentor and a friend. Those of us who had the privilege of working with him have many fond memories. My condolences to Holly, Charles and David and their families.

Bill Campbell was my principal while I was an English teacher at Willowbrook High School for several years. My fondest memories of "the Brook" included the wonderful fellowship of the administrators and teachers, due in part to Bill's leadership. (Suzanne Millies, Naperville, IL)

I remember Bill fondly as he was my principal at Willowbrook High School in Villa Park when I began my career as a Biology teacher. A truly dedicated, outstanding educational leader in the classic tradition. He will always be remembered fondly by our generation. Condolences to his family. Ron Tyler

My wife and I both taught at Willowbrook HS in the 70's when Bill was principal. I used to go pheasant hunting with Bill and several of the guys from Willowbrook down at John Hamann's parents farm. We always had a great time and he was a great man to work for. John and Marilyn Nymeyer
