William E. "Bill" Jones, age 78, U.S. Air Force veteran, of Yorkville, IL and Sebring, FL, formerly of Naperville, IL, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center, in Sebring, FL, surrounded by his wife and children and friends. William Elliott Jones was born April 12, 1938, in Wabasha, MN to Jerold E. and Loretta C. (nee Riester) Jones. Bill married Marianne Tvedt from Danvers, MN on July 3, 1965 at Church of the Incarnation in Minneapolis, MN. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marianne, his son, Christopher William Jones (Mary Ann Hughes) of St. Michael, MN and two daughters, Julie Anne Jones McCormick (John) of Glen Ellyn, IL and Susan Marie Jones Thanepohn (Philip) of Newark, IL. Bill was a devoted, beloved husband, father and grandfather, and he had a special relationship with each of his grandchildren, Brandon and Cody Jones, Zachary and Meagan McCormick and Leah Thanepohn. He is survived by his sister, Jane Jones Lewandowski (Thomas) of Wabasha, MN and a sister-in-law, Darlene Schumacher Jones of Wabasha, MN. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Jerold and Loretta Jones, brother, Jerold F. Jones and two sisters, Donna Jones Benjamin and Marietta Jones Flanaghan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved and adored him. May his memory and especially his smile be a blessing to all whose lives he touched. Memorial Visitation Sunday, November 6, 2016, 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, IL. Family and friends will meet on Monday, November 7th at 10:30 a.m. to celebrate a Memorial Mass at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 1215 Modaff Road, Naperville, IL. Bill will be interred at St. Felix Cemetery, Wabasha, MN, on November 12, at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life luncheon afterwards at The Bluffs at Coffee Mill Golf Club, in Wabasha.
