Alvin John Sandsmark went to be with his Lord and Saviour on June 23, 2017 at the age of 73. Alvin was born on May 6, 1944 in Elmhurst, Illinois the son of the late Haakon and Alvina Sandsmark. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert Sandsmark.
He served as a member of the Illinois Air National Guard. Alvin was a long-time business owner in Naples. He was a former chapter president of Naples Full Gospel Businessmen Association. Alvin and his wife Billie were responsible for the success of Maranatha Bible Book Store in Naples.
He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Billie Jo. Two daughters Joelle Free and Tammy Caraker (Joshua), two grandchildren, Chase and Carlee Ularich and grand-dogs Dixiebell, Willowblu and Harley. He also leaves behind a sister, Sandra Meyer (Ron), sister-in-law, Barbara Schweighardt (Marc Browning), sister-in-law, Mary Pierce and brother-in-law, Robert Linehart (Tara) and many nieces and nephews.
Remembrance services will be private and in lieu of flowers, please honor Alvin's testimony by sending a donation to Moody Bible Institute attn: Crystal Davis, 820 North LaSalle Blvd., Chicago, IL 60610 re: Alvin Sandsmark.

Al Sandsmark was the first boss I had when I moved to Naples in 1997. He was the best boss I have ever had. So sorry to have learned of his passing. The world lost a wonderful soul!

I have so many fond memories of the Sandsmark family while growing up. Al was a Godly and caring person. My thoughts and prayers are with Billie, Joelle, Tammy and all the family. May God keep you in the palms of His mighty and loving hands!
