Guy Baker Obituary

Guy Harold Baker

Naples, FL

Guy Harold Baker passed away on January 12, 2018 surrounded by loved ones. Guy is survived by his children: Sally (Eric) Rudd and Jim (Jamie) Baker; four grandchildren: John (Kady) Rudd, Lisa (Justin) Campbell, Jimmy Baker, and Jordyn Baker; and three great-grandchildren: Peyton, Levi, and Lennox.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Ann; his sisters: Christine, Billie, and Lois; and his parents: James and Ida Baker.

Guy was born in Wise, Virginia on January 22, 1941 and lived there until he graduated from JJ Kelly High School in 1959. At the age of eighteen, Guy moved to Royal Oak, Michigan where he was a machinist and foreman at Windham Industries. In 1964, he met Ann Forsythe who would become his bride in 1965 and together they would welcome two children, Sally and Jim. In 1976, the family moved to Elizabethton, Tennessee where Guy opened Guy's Automotive Service. In 1981, they moved to Naples, Florida following a business opportunity to open Moorings Gulf Service Station and later opened Professional Auto Repair where Guy worked as Owner and Operator until he retired in 2012.

Guy was known to all for his attention to detail and desire for perfection as well as his no-nonsense attitude and quiet demeanor. He was a member of North Naples Church for more than thirty years and loved spending time with his family. Several years after the passing of his wife, Guy was blessed to connect with a fellow Wise, Virginian, Betty Jessee who filled his retirement years with joy.

The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
