Jefferson Hassell Naples, FL
Jefferson Hassell, 70, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2013.
Beloved husband for more than 46 years to Laura Lee Hassell; loving father of Susan and Scott; adored grandfather of Emma and Sarah; and brother of Susan Toxie and the late Ann Doty, Ruth Hernandez, and Richard Hassell.
Born in Dallas, TX, he was a graduate of Southern Methodist University. After working as a civilian in the U.S. Air Force at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, he moved to Naples in 1973 and began working as a professional consulting engineer on commercial, residential, and other projects throughout Naples, Collier County, and the region. He also proudly served on the Board of Trustees of the Community School of Naples from 1986 through 1995 and he continued to support the school's buildings and grounds efforts until his passing.
He took great pride in his work and taught his children that values, integrity, and hard work pay off.
A passionate boater and gifted chef, he loved nothing more than sharing the beauty of southwest Florida with family and friends on a long relaxing boat ride and then amazing them with a wonderful meal and great stories.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but we will forever remember his smile, sense of humor, generosity, and his love of learning and sharing his new discoveries with others.
Gifts can be made in his memory and honor to the Community School of Naples.
We wish him a happy final voyage!

So very sorry for your loss. What a good man. I worked with Jeff on many projects during my 33 years with FPL and enjoyed every time I spoke with him. I'll miss hearing him answer the phone "Jeff Hassell".

To the Hassell family, I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Jeff on the Collier County Community Parks and he was a great influence in my life and career. I always said everything I learned about sports lighting I learned from him. Whenever I pass a Collier County Park with sports lighting it will remind me of him.. he was a great person.
