John Capeless Obituary

John E. Capeless Naples, FL

John E. Capeless, 66, of Naples, FL, passed away after a brief illness March 8, 2012 at Naples Community Hospital surrounded by his family.

John was born September 26, 1945 to the late James J. and Julia (McMahon) Capeless in Springfield, MA where he spent his formative years. He graduated with the Class of 1967 from the University of Massachusetts Amherst where he participated in a number of activities including serving as President of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.

After a distinguished career in the Plastics Injection Molding industry, he retired as President of Engineered Specialty Plastics in 2004. He and his wife Janice, the love of his life of 42 years, then relocated to Naples, FL.

In addition to his family, John enjoyed travel, cooking, and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. He was also an active member of the Cypress Woods Golf and Country Club in Naples and, when not throwing his golf clubs out of frustration, could often be found repeatedly and proudly boasting of his sons, granddaughters, and his favorite Boston area teams while enjoying an adult beverage.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janice (O'Brien) Capeless of Naples, FL; his twin sons and their wives, James J. Capeless (Katie) of York, SC, and Edward T. Capeless (Alisha) of North Aurora, IL; and his three granddaughters, Keira, Audrina, and Gianna Capeless of North Aurora, IL. He is also survived by his brothers, James J. Capeless, and Neil Capeless of Naples, FL, and William Capeless of Oakland, ME; along with several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Saint Agnes Catholic Church, 7775 Vanderbilt Beach Road, Naples, FL 34120.
